Full Job Description:

Heritage Printing, Sign & Displays is seeking a highly motivated Prepress Specialist with a history of success in the commercial sign industry to join our team in Charlotte, NC.

Your primary role as a Prepress Specialist for our Charlotte Sign Company:

  • Effectively handle the prepress workflow and layout of customer-provided graphics for a variety of wide-format sign printing projects to meet the demands of clients' deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot customer-provided design files, prepping them for our wide format printers and cutting devices including the Vutek UV Hybrid printer, Mimaki UV flatbed printer, HP latex wide format printers, plotters, CNC, and laser cutters.
  • Layout customer projects for all forms of wide-format and sign printing applications while interacting with our clients and our project managers for the best possible results.
  • Work with our wide format production managers to ensure that all wide format printing projects are being completed in a timely manner.
  • Teach and train members of our team and our clients better ways to prepare files for more efficient production and better final results.
  • Keeping all customer files organized in an efficient and effective way to allow for easy access for anyone looking for them at any time now or in the future.
  • Research and develop more efficient ways to layout, design, prepress, and produce jobs to improve workflow and reduce material waste within our production facility.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of prepress experience in the production of wide-format graphics for a sign company.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and other wide format design software and be able to effectively troubleshoot files that clients send us.
  • An ability to design for commercial interior graphics, event signage, and retail point of purchase applications would be a big advantage, but is a secondary consideration to the role.
  • Working knowledge of Latex Roll Printers, UV flatbed printers, CNC and Laser Cutters, Digital Vinyl Plotters, paint booths, and mount to rigid substrates.
  • A thorough knowledge of color management and color matching.
  • Be able to work with co-workers and clients in a positive, constructive way that builds team unity while still expecting a high level of performance, creativity, and profitability.
  • Have good people skills and an ability to work both independently and as a member of a variety of teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of responsiveness and initiative.
  • Must be very detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to communicate and work well with teammates during a typical day’s challenges.
  • Must be able to adapt in the face of last-minute changes and tight deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:
