January 2017, what’s your your New Year’s Resolution? Stop smoking, lose weight, eating better are the stock answers and yes, we do need to do those. But what about your new Christmas Present, the slick new cell phone or camera you now own?

These past few years we have witnessed an enormous advancement in smartphone technology, quality images never imagined from a mobile device is now commonplace with any new smartphone. There’s no doubt that today’s cell phones have incredible capabilities, slow-motion videos, who would have guessed?

Now that “Mobile” is such a day to day (who am I kidding….moment to moment) part of our lives, many things have improved, namely videos and photographs.

You don’t have to be a “professional Photographer” to take high quality pictures, all you need is a new smartphone, a little practice and a great backdrop. You have the phone, you’ve watched the YouTube videos, all you need is a backdrop.

THAT’S WHERE WE COME IN!

Professional photographers utilize portable backdrops to create the ambience they envision prior to the flash.  With 2017 smartphone technology, most cell phone pictures are just as pleasing, so why invest in the bulky, expensive and complicated cameras and equipment?

What is a Pull Up Banner?

Many items take on various names, brands or become associated with terms closely defining the product. We call that lexical.

lex·i·cal ˈleksək(ə)l/ of or relating to the words or vocabulary of a language.

Our retractable banner stands have several lexical terms:

  • Pull Up Banner
  • Roll Up Banner
  • Pop Up Banner Stand
  • Mini Retractable
  • Tabletop Banner

Regardless of the terminology, we understand how important “pull up” banners are to vendors and event attendees, that’s why we offer over 25 variations, from small to large, narrow to wide, even a 2-sided version.

Retractable banner stands are the display standard at trade shows, conventions and events. They serve well in storefronts and lobbies to announce products and services too. The vibrant imagery, along with the durable stand make pop up banners a favorite for all marketers.

James Zambrano (co-worker) and I were discussing the versatility of retractables, as he demonstrated our smallest version of the popular display, a table top retractable. The conversation evolved into a video, where James shows how easy it is to setup a mini retractable banner stand.

James has a retractable already in place on his table, with the more common full-size pop up as his backdrop. He removes the display and the support poles from its case (every pull up banners come with a nylon carry bag). There are two support poles, James inserts the top pole into the bottom pole and secures it into the port on the stand.

Watch how easily he pulls the banner up from its stand and attaches it to the support pole! Take down and storage is equally as easy; simply un-attach the banner from the top support pole and it will retract into the base (much like a window shade). Detach the two support poles and insert everything into the carry case.

Retractable banners are the most popular signage we make at Heritage Printing, Signs & Displays, the mini retractable is popular for its use as a table top display.

Lightweight, easy to setup and travel, mini pull up banner stands:

Smaller can be BIGGER!

How we make a Custom Canvas Wrap

This video has Brent Thompson, Production Manager at Heritage Printing, Signs & Displays, demonstrating the process he developed for all canvas wraps made at Heritage Printing, Signs & Displays. Follow this step-by-step process and easily understand why canvas print lobby signs made at Heritage Printing, Signs & Displays are truly custom made.

  1. Brent makes the frame from Hampton Premium hardwood. First he rips it to the correct diameter, then cuts angles in the corners for a perfect fit. Lastly he glues and nails the frame pieces together.
  2. Custom sizes include, but are not limited to: 8” x 10”, 18” x 24”, 12” x 18”, 11” x 14”, 24” x 36”. We make extra-large and smaller versions on request.
  3. Once adhered and dried, the frame is sanded to remove all sharp edges, splinters and imperfections, this provides the best possible frame!
  4. Brent prints on HP Premium Satin Canvas. He uses our full-color latex printer, which can print canvas up to 60” wide.
  5. Once printed, the canvas is trimmed to remove all excess material and is ready to be applied to the frame.
  6. Brent staples one of the sides, and using his canvas tightening tool, snugs the fabric to the frame and attaches the opposite side, then he repeats the process with the remaining edges.
  7. Brent prefers to pleat the corners on the top and bottom of the print, thus providing maximum exposure to the sides of his wraps.

Canvas prints are not new, what is new, is how much effort we put into every one we make.
